About the Frazers

The Frazer's are a father and son duo that has just started playing out together in recent months. Though their musical backgrounds and styles may differ, they come together nicely in their performances.

Martin (father) has played in big band and swing groups for many years and you will be hard pressed to give him a title of an old jazz standard with which he is not familiar. He currently is very busy with several big bands and small jazz combos in the Sun City area in addition to playing in the duo with his son. Though Martin is proficient on many brass and woodwind instruments as well as drums, he primarily plays trombone, vibes and sings in performances.

Chris (son) is a public school music educator and was a classical guitar major in college. He plays many styles of guitar and has a blast playing the nostalgic jazz standards with his father. He frequents many open mic venues as a performer and singer/songwriter and is founder of the website www.azopenmic.com which provides comprehensive information on the Phoenix area open mic scene. At times at gigs he can also be found playing keyboard in addition to playing guitar and singing.

Be transported back, in our musical time machine, to a time when love was new, but hardly anything else was, when life was simpler but not easy, when we loved our country enough to make necessary sacrifices, when musical tastes appreciated melodies, harmonies and rhythms that were not predictable, and lyrics with clever rhymes that exposed heart-felt feelings or, sometimes, were just intentionally silly, but fun. Whether you are dancing, sitting and listening or singing along with us, just let go and soak in that lovely nostalgia.
