About
Steve
A
Singer/Songwriter that wants to tell you a story or two.
An
Arizona native, Steve grew up in small towns from Page to Hayden.
Often the most exciting thing for a boy to do was to ride a horse or
hike around the hills, collecting rocks, lizards and the joy of
Arizona's back country. At some point in this wandering he picked up
the guitar and never put it down.
Steve
got the bug for performing at open mic venues, and is a regular at
Fiddler's Dream open stage, Fatso's Pizza, and at Coffee Talk's open
mic.
Proud
to be one of Audrey's Angels, Steve plays as often as he can for folks
in assisted living facilities around Phoenix, hoping to bring a little
joy and music into their days.
Entertaining these diverse groups of people has helped him build a
wide repertoire including old standards, the good old country songs of
Hank Williams and Willie Nelson, and rock and pop from the Drifters to
the Goo Goo Dolls. Steve would love to try and play your favorites,
and always has fun doing it!
This
wide variety of musical styles has left its mark, making it hard to
fit Steve Decker's original music into any pigeonhole. Most of his
songs tell a story or look at the world through the eyes of common
and uncommon people. In this way, he hopes we can find a way to
understand and live together in peace.
If
you have as good a time listening and singing along as he does playing
for you, it will be a good night of music!
